Welcome to Sugar Bear Palace! Please meet the owners Rosy bear and Bleu bear. There they are standing tall and sovereign with their candy-coated scepters and keys. These lovelies just secured their own mansion at a private property located at endless sugary candy land drive. Come along on a mini house tour with them. Here we have an Oreo and milk raging waterfall and bridge behind them, banana split speedboats for jet skiing, never ending gum ball machines (seriously it pours too many gum balls in one turn) a chocolate fudge brownie stairway, a cake pop generator and much much more. These bears are the sweetest, most kindest bears you’ll ever meet. Sweet tooth’s are only allowed at their palace.
I created this sugar bear piece with inspiration from the Candyland games I used to play with my sisters when we were kids. The nostalgia and sweet memories led me to create this artwork. I added some Mesmer to the painting by incorporating golden wire, which I love to include in everything I do, as well as a small welcome sign that can open and close. This reminds me of the little open-and-close cards in books I used to see in class as a kid - it felt like a little surprise. Therefore, I included this "3D" element in this piece.
The artwork features a handmade frame integrated into the art as the foundational structure. It is meticulously crafted using professional archival materials to ensure longevity. Various mixed media materials were used to achieve the final results. Golden jewelry wire was used for embellishments around the frames, and resin was applied to seal the wires for durability.
